Established in 2003, Vass Markets Inc. is a Greenville, SC marketing and public relations company serving clients in a variety of industries including residential construction, consumer products, retail, health and wellness, and professional associations. Additionally, the company owns and markets a unique line of Greenville merchandise through area retailers and online.
Vass Markets is owned by Kathy Vass, a native of Atlanta and a 1980 graduate of the University of Georgia’s Henry W. Grady School of Journalism & Mass Communication. Kathy moved to South Carolina in 1984 and worked as a newspaper reporter covering business and industry for the Anderson Independent-Mail and The Greenville News, then served as SC Bureau Chief for New York-based Daily News Record. Kathy was employed by Palmetto Expo Center for 10 years as Director of Advertising & PR, then as Director of Sales & Marketing. For three years, she was Director of the BI-LO Charity Classic and Internal Communications Manager for BI-LO Inc.
Kathy has more than 25 years experience in public relations, marketing, sales, and event marketing and management. She has served on many professional and non-profit boards including terms as board president for Greenville Ad Club, Greenville’s Child, Loaves & Fishes and Michael’s Way. She was 2009 Chairman of the Better Business Bureau® Upstate and presently chairs the Bureau’s PR and Nominating committees. Kathy also served as a mentor at the YWCA of Greenville’s Empowerment Center and presently is a volunteer and member at Triune Mercy Center.
